Make it a Full Weekend

October 5, 2013 the Weaver Basin 50K, 30K, and 10K presented by the Rotary Club of Weaverville

In our first year, 2012, we had 75 runners and raised $2000 for the Trinity High School Athletics Booster Club. The top time in the 50k was 3 hours and 48 minutes which we has us still astounded. This year, we will have more prizes and sponsorships and we hope to raise even more this year for the Trinity High School Track & Field and Cross Country Teams.

Loaded with historic trails, the Weaver Basin 50K trail ultra-marathon offers a challenging course of mostly single-track with only 200 yards of pavement, less than 5 miles of dirt road, and over 4,000 ft of climbing. Explore our mining trails in the heart of California's Trinity Alps, a remote and rugged part of Northern California.

The Weaver Basin trails will take you through oak, douglas fir, and pine forests across multiple creeks, and over ridges with incredible views from Mt Shasta to Shasta Bally. The mining history is everywhere on our trails as you run along hydraulic mining ditches, through the rock piles left by chinese miners, drainages and hillsides washed away over a hundred years ago.

You can expect 5 well stocked aid stations and the choice of three distances(50k, 30k, and 10k).

Participants in the 50k and 30k will receive a t-shirt with their entry and a finisher award.  T-shirts will also be available for purchase.

Proceeds, after the race costs, go to support the Trinity High School Athletics Booster Club

The Weaver Basin 50k operates under a permit from the Shasta-Trinity National Forest and is an equal opportunity service provider.

Weaver Basin Trails Course

The course for the Weaver Basin 50k  will cover many of the trails on the Weaver Basin Trail System, Weaver Basin Trail System Map.

The course will involve only 200 yards of pavement, roughly 5 miles of dirt roads, and the rest on single-track. Some of the route is technical with a narrow tread, rocks, and roots.
